Secure Login Experience

Welcome back — signing in lets you access and manage your Uphold® account quickly and securely. Your account is the gateway to view balances, move funds, check transaction history, and manage linked cards and bank accounts. To protect your assets and personal data, we combine modern security practices with a streamlined login experience.

Start by entering the email address or username associated with your account, followed by your password. If you enabled two-factor authentication (2FA), you will be prompted for a second verification step after entering your password. 2FA adds an additional layer of protection by requiring a time-limited code from an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator or Authy) or a one-time code sent to your phone. We strongly recommend enabling 2FA if you haven’t already — it significantly reduces the chance of unauthorized access.

If you forget your password, click the “Forgot password?” link and follow the secure reset flow. For security, we’ll prompt you to confirm ownership of the recovery email or phone number before allowing a password reset. Reset links expire after a short period to reduce risk, so if you don’t see the reset email within a few minutes, check spam or junk folders and request a new link. If the recovery methods associated with your account are no longer accessible, contact Support for identity verification options.

To keep your account safe, avoid using the same password across multiple sites and consider a strong passphrase of at least 12 characters that mixes words and punctuation. Use a reputable password manager to generate and store unique credentials. Be suspicious of unsolicited emails asking for your password or personal details — Uphold® will never request your password via email. When you sign in from a new device, you may be asked to confirm the device by entering a code sent to your registered email or phone. This is normal and prevents unwanted devices from gaining access.

For convenience, many users enable biometric sign-in on supported devices. Biometrics such as fingerprint or facial recognition are securely stored by the device and used only to unlock the local credential. They are an effective, user-friendly option when combined with other security best practices. Likewise, consider enabling push notifications for sign-in approvals when available — these push prompts can replace codes and are harder to intercept.

If you notice suspicious activity in your transaction feed, take immediate action: change your password, sign out of all sessions, and contact Support. You can review recent account activity and device sessions in the security section of your account to confirm which logins are recognized. Sign out of public or shared devices and clear saved login data to reduce risks.

We continually monitor for unusual sign-in patterns and may temporarily lock access if we detect high-risk activity; this helps protect you while we verify the account’s safety. If you are locked out, follow the instructions in the lockout notice or contact Support to restore access. Our help center includes step-by-step guidance on password resets, enabling 2FA, and best security practices.

Finally, keep your contact information current — an up-to-date email and phone number ensure you receive important security alerts and recovery messages. By combining cautious habits (unique passwords, 2FA, device hygiene) with the platform’s protective measures, you can enjoy a safe, reliable experience while managing your finances online.
